Hey! So Glad You're Here.

My name is Allison David. For the past three years, I have been the sole caregiver for my mother, navigating the practical demands and emotional strain of elder care without a reliable family support system.

That experience showed me how easily caregiving can become reactive, disorganized, and unsustainable. It can be especially difficult when the family history is complicated, communication is strained, or the caregiver has spent years managing anxiety and hypervigilance. My work is trauma-informed, grounded in healthy boundaries, and shaped by the belief that good care should not require someone to lose themselves in the process.

As a Caregiving Systems Consultant, Family Care Advocate, and certified end-of-life doula, I created The Weight of Caregiving to offer the kind of practical, informed support I often wished had been available to me.

Through 30 Days Caregiving Systems Support, I work privately with caregivers to assess what is happening, identify priorities, organize essential information, and build a more reliable caregiving structure. My individual Strategy Sessionsoffer focused guidance for a specific concern, decision, conversation, or problem that needs attention now.

This work brings lived experience together with thoughtful strategy, so caregivers can move forward with greater clarity, stronger boundaries, and a plan that reflects the realities of their lives.

When everything feels urgent, it can be difficult to know where to begin. Enter your email below to receive the free “What Needs Attention First?” Caregiving Assessment and identify the areas that may need your attention now.
